Culture Night and The Non Prophet Festival 18-20 September 2015 with the community of Claremorris promises to be an entertaining weekend for all the family.

Culture Night begins at 6pm with a historic bi-lngual tour of the town with Colman O’Raghallaigh - Conradh na Gaeilge & Padraig O’Cathain - Claremorris Historical Soc.

After walking and whetting our appetites you are cordially invited to feast with us for the opening reception at 7.30pm St. John’s Church – Town Library accompanied by music & poetry courtesy of renowned Irish Harpist Grainne Hambly & locals singing and reciting the poetic words of “the indomitable Irishry” in a wonderful acoustic setting.

Saturday begins with an introduction to storytelling on stage with a Theatre Workshop from 12-5pm followed by The Claremorris Players final production of A Wake in the West at 8.30pm in the Town Hall Theatre, Claremorris. The theatre workshop cost includes ticket for show and preference will be given to those interested in particpating in The Claremorris Players next production. So don’t miss the opportunity to see the mystery of how it all comes together when the show must go on.

Sunday will be a walk in McMahon Park/Land of the Giants in the company of Conservationists, Chris and Lynda Huxley telling us all about the flora and fauna as we take a tour with them which includes an orienteering trial for the young, as well as learning wilderness survival skills with Mac Tire Bushcraft.

There’ll be an afternoon Performance Picnic with Ala’s Participatory Theatre and fresh pizzas available at Growing Locally, Mayfield, Claremorris

We’ll end with the classic film Casablanca @ 8pm in Town Hall Studio with Claremorris Film Soc. In the spirit of generosity we hope you’ll come, give your time and support like the performers, to preserve our Community & Environment.
